People - Transformational Goals for APS Instruction

The Vista 2015 Plan provides the framework for transforming the Aurora Public Schools into the premiere school district in the state of Colorado. The quality of a student's instruction has the largest effect on his/her achievement and continually improving every staff member's effectiveness is a priority in our district. We believe that the achievement of each and every student can be brought to the highest level through the following transformational goals:

• Ensure all employees are highly qualified and skilled for their positions
• Develop and nurture a professional culture of leadership, integrity and creativity throughout the district

Aurora Public Schools Professional Learning seeks to provide every educator with opportunities to become an even more effective agent for success for our students. By promoting opportunities for study within our own district, through universities in our area, and through online learning, we seek to match our talented staff with professional learning experiences that will transform their instruction.

LDE as COE for 2011-2012 New Hires

Information sessions regarding the Linguistically Diverse Education as a Condition of Employment are scheduled for April 16 and April 24.  Each session begins at 4:45 PM and is at the PLCC, Blanca Peak.   Representatives from ELA, Professional Learning, and Human Resources will discuss the requirements of LDE as COE, review the processes for applying and registering for courses, and answer your questions.  Attendance at one of the two meetings is required for 2011-2012 new hires.
